Top 10 WR in the 2026 class, 5-Star WR Jabari Mack Decommits from Destrehan flip commitment to Alabama Over LSU Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks.
In a stunning turn of events, 5-star wide receiver Jabari Mack, one of the top prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, has decommitted from Destrehan High School and flipped his commitment to the University of Alabama. The highly sought-after wideout made waves in the recruiting world, choosing the Crimson Tide over fierce competition from in-state powerhouse LSU Tigers and the Arkansas Razorbacks.   Mack, who has been widely regarded as one of the top 10 wide receivers in the class, has been a star since his freshman year. With his combination of size, speed, and playmaking ability, many recruiting analysts have touted him as a potential future first-round NFL draft pick.
The decision comes as a bit of a surprise to many in the college football world, as Mack had been a vocal supporter of LSU throughout much of his recruitment process. However, after taking several visits to Alabama’s campus and meeting with head coach Nick Saban, Mack ultimately decided that Tuscaloosa offered the best path for his development on and off the field.   “It was a tough decision, but after spending time at Alabama, I just felt like it was the place where I could become the best version of myself,” Mack said in a statement. “I’m excited for the future and can’t wait to get to work with Coach Saban and the rest of the team.”
Mack’s commitment to Alabama is a major coup for the Crimson Tide’s already elite recruiting class. Alabama has been on a roll in recent years, and adding a talent like Mack to their wide receiver corps only strengthens their position as one of the top programs in the country.
LSU and Arkansas will now turn their attention to securing other elite wide receiver recruits to bolster their respective classes. Both programs had hoped to keep Mack in state, but the pull of Alabama’s storied program was simply too strong.   Mack is expected to be a key player for Alabama in the coming years, and his recruitment only adds to the growing excitement around the 2026 class, which is shaping up to be one of the deepest in recent memory. Fans in Tuscaloosa are already looking forward to watching the next chapter in Mack’s promising career unfold.
