The Georgia Bulldogs have set their sights on a star quarterback to shape the program’s future. On Saturday, the No. 1 rated quarterback for the 2026 recruiting class announced his final list of schools, and Georgia remains one of two top contenders for his commitment. As the Bulldogs look ahead, they still have key decisions to make regarding the quarterback position for the 2025 season.

All indications suggest that Gunner Stockton is the frontrunner to take over as Georgia’s next starting quarterback following Carson Beck’s transfer to the Miami Hurricanes this offseason. Redshirt freshman Ryan Puglisi is also set to return to Athens, while four-star freshman Ryan Montgomery is expected to be a contender in the quarterback competition as well.

Meanwhile, Georgia is locked in a high-stakes recruiting battle with the Oregon Ducks for five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. The Nashville Christian standout holds the No. 1 quarterback ranking for the 2026 recruiting class, according to both On3 and ESPN, making him one of the most sought-after prospects in the country.

Curtis just announced that Georgia and Oregon are the only two teams he is considering. "BREAKING: Five-Star QB Jared Curtis is down to [two schools], he tells me for @on3recruits," On3's Hayes Fawcett detailed in a Saturday message on X. "The nation's No. 1 QB has canceled his official visits to Auburn and South Carolina. He will only be taking [official visits] to Georgia and Oregon." The school who lands Curtis will need to be prepared to pay a premium for the quarterback. On3 projects Curtis' NIL value is already $3 million.
