Blackburn Rovers attacker has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a meniscus injury. Rovers will have to make do without him as they eye promotion from the Championship. Weimann, 33, has been a key player for the Lancashire outfit since his switch to Ewood Park last summer. He has made 34 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with nine goals, seven of which have come in the league, and two assists. He has posted on X“Unfortunately my season has ended a little early. I had to make the decision to have surgery and repair my meniscus to be fully fit for the start of pre season and to give myself the best chance of playing for a few more years as I know I’ve got a lot left to give.”
